Southwestern Scale has sponsored and supported the efforts of El Sol Foods’ successful attempt at breaking the Guinness World Record for the world’s largest serving of salsa! The record was broken on Friday, March 7th, 2014 with a giant tub of salsa weighing in at a whopping 7308 lbs!
The floor scale that was donated by Southwestern Scale Company, to weigh the salsa for the new record, is a 5’x5′ scale that has a capacity of 10,000 lbs!
The salsa was served at the 30th Annual My Nana’s Best Tasting Salsa Challenge held at Steele Indian School Park . The event was a fundraiser for a great cause, the Arizona Hemophilia Association. News Channel 3 and channel 10 covered the day’s events. The competition had over 100 entries of freshly made salsa and attendees were able to enjoy all the chips and salsa they could eat!
